Review of Snow Day (2000) by Kyle Y — 18 Aug 2007
"Anything can happen on a snow day.".
Disguised as a simple movie for children, it deceptively reaches the hearts of a slightly older audience, like myself.
Maybe it's the allure of the once sacred snow day. Maybe it's the brother/sister relationship. Maybe it's the idea of chasing the girl of your dreams with everything you've got. Maybe it's the idea that the girl of your dreams was really your best friend all along. Maybe it's Chevy Chase.
Whatever the case, the movie won me over immediately, and will never be forgotten. It's also a good reminder that a great movie isn't necessarily ingenious in its plot twists and turns; it's just really well done.
