Review of Snow Cake (2006) by Stephanie L — 27 Jul 2008
I somehow missed this sedate drama years ago when it won the top honours at the Berlin Festival. Simple storyline and a setting and treatment that reflect the brooding emotional presence of the key characters.
Sigourney Weaver as an autistic adult, unable to react to a proximate tragedy, looks convincing. Simple, but memorable. Keeps the basics correct. Good example for good cinema.
