Review of Snitch (2013) by Wallace S — 29 Jun 2013
(3 Stars) Snitch is Dwayne Johnson's most dramatic role in recent memory and he's not a bad actor at all. We may prefer him in blockbuster action, but he carries the movie enough. I'm actually a little shocked they made a drama about drugs rated PG-13; it's commendable but also may have hurt the grittiness they were striving for.
The more the movie goes on and the deeper Johnson goes into his snitching to Susan Sarandon, it gets increasingly absurd. Snitch is thrilling at times and may be enough for a rental if you're interested in a really watered down episode of The Wire.
