Review of Snake Eyes (1998) by Don S — 22 Jun 2012
Disappointing for a DePalma movie: no moodiness, no tension, not very involving. Part of the problem appears to be all the characters, save one, are slimy and detestable. Hard to connect with them. Looking at it as if it were not directed by DePalma, it is passable.
The story is interesting and well-acted enough to keep you watching, however implausible it may be. The end seemed rushed; I understand it was changed before it was released. A so-so movie.
