Review of Smiley Face (2007) by Damien K — 29 Jul 2009
Meh. I guess it loses a bunch of its comedy & appeal for me because I am not a pothead... so I suppose I wasn't the target audience ><.
Anywho, it was okay... A little below average ('Harold & Kumar' was a lot better, and didn't target specifically to potheads) in it's story & how it played out, but there were some funny bits (the openning with Anna Faris on the Ferris Wheel was pretty funny to me, and all the bits with Danny Masterson in them where he was supposed to be "scary" were pretty funny) that made me laugh, and that's mainly where the 2 stars come from...
Bad, bad story. There was also one part near the end where the college proffessor, his mother, Jane (Anna Faris)'s roommate (Danny Masterson)'s friend, and some random guy from an apartment building Jane was hiding out in were all in the roommate's friend's car searching for Jane... I could see the mother, professor, & roommate's friend searching for her, but the random guy? He called the police & yelled at Jane, his part was over, he had no stake in finding her. What was he going to do when he found her? Yell at her some more? Retarded, that part, seeing's how it was extremely unlikely the 4 of them would have all known eachother, and therefore wouldn't have all been together, searching for Jane...
