Smashed is a modern day version of the movie, Days of Wine and Roses. Except, in this case, it is the woman who has to walk away from the relationship. Winstead is the one to watch here. She plays two parts in the movie, Kate sober and Kate drunk.
The personalities couldn't be more different. She wakes up in the middle of nowhere one too many times it sets her on the AA track. Kate sober soon finds out that a life built on booze has far reaching effects and getting sober can mean losing everything she thought was important.
Is it worth the trade? Watch and see.
