Review of Smart People (2008) by Chucho E. Q — 21 Jan 2009
A generous three stars. This isn't as bad as it looks. The script is rough, though. Dennis Quaid is actually very good, as is Hayden Church and the son. Ellen Page plays a riff on her "Juno" character, but one who, imo, is more grounded in reality.
I thought, 'Oh, great, this is another one of those not as smart as they think they are movies where all the characters talk in the same random, esoteric tone.' I was proven wrong.
