Review of Smart People (2008) by Andrés R — 20 Apr 2009
Ellen Page is brillant. So far everything I've seen she touches turns to gold. Her character was really the only one with any true pulse as this movie followed the premise that 'smart people' are emotionally retarded.
Dennis Quaid said in an interview he took this movie because it was so unlike anything he had ever done before and it is brooding and reclusive. I like Paul's review where he said the people were real.
It's funny how intelligent people still make mistakes. Plenty of good after movie dinner conversation here. Didn't have a wow punch factor besides Page of course. Good contrast of characters. This was a 8 dollar burger, good but not worth 8 dollars capeche?
