Review of Smart People (2008) by Marcus W — 02 Oct 2009
The film revolves around Quaid as a man who is a genius, but "socially retarded" - and the effect this has on those around him. The script is sharp and Page seems born to deliver scripts like these, the short runtime is good but the tone is too dour and there's way too much acoustic music.
Every time the film seems likely to break out into a smile, something happens to keep it grounded. Watchable, but it needs to take some happy pills.
