Review of Slugs (1988) by Trinity C — 03 Aug 2007
I'll be frank -- this is not as good as PIECES. However, it's still got plenty of hilarious scenes, accentuated by poorly articulated lines and overpowering music that doesn't match the situation at all. There are several sequences that move rather slowly, but if you're watching it with friends it will keep you engaged. It's definitely missing the charm of its predecessor, maybe because of the bigger budget. Whereas PIECES felt very earnest in its badness, SLUGS almost feels like J.P. Simon was unabashedly making a bad movie.
But maybe I've just set the bar too high.
