Review of Slow West (2015) by Kyle B — 06 Jul 2015
I always love to see modern westerns these days and wish more popped up like this. The score is haunting and beautiful and captures the Western essence perfectly and the cinematography is jaw droopingly beautiful especially during sunsets.
Michael Fassbender does a good job but the performance that I really enjoyed was Kodi Smit McPhee. He has been in a few movies lately but this was the first time he really made an impression on me. It is kind of short and feels like the first hour is setting up for an AMC drama but it was solid with a lot to like about it.
The climax is well directed and for a first time director this was a pretty impressive debut.
