Review of Slither (2006) by Jt K — 23 Nov 2012
(how have I not reviewed this yet? I was one of 3 people that saw it on theatrical release...).
I've mentioned before how hard it is to pull off the Horror-Comedy correctly. But when it works, it looks a lot like this. Slimy, gross, and very very funny. It helps that everyone involved is in top form, from director Gunn and a stellar cast of character actors. There's a steady stream of homages, so originality might be a bit lacking (and one character exists mostly to spew convenient exposition - hey it's good, not perfect). Not everyone will be into it, but fans of films about creepy-crawlies and body horror (with a strong sense of humor) will have a blast.
