Review of Sling Blade (1996) by Jeff B — 29 May 2010
My opinion of Billy Bob was forever changed after seeing both this movie and The Gift. He completed the trifecta here with wonderful directing, a fabulous script, and one of the most remarkable acting performances I have ever seen (really, the entire cast was fantastic).
If you have not seen this I cannot recommend it enough. Like all the best films, it evokes a wide array of emotions. It is so deep in its imagery and allegory, and yet so simple in its delivery. This is one of the best movies I have ever seen.
