Review of Sleepwalkers (2007) by Cody P — 06 Mar 2010
I enjoy this film to this day for what it is...a campy horror flick with minimal gore, bad acting, interesting plot, and a little incest thrown in the mix! About a mother and son who are shapeshifters and have had to flee their CA home to a small IN town due to the fact that they murdered someone there.
They are deathly afraid of cats, which can see them for what they truly are and could kill them with one scratch. The main character is on a quest to seduce a local girl in order to feed her life force to his starving mom, kind of like a psychic energy/vampire feed.
It doesn't go well, and they're exposed for what they are. It then becomes a survival of the fittest scenario/battle between the humans/police force, and the main character and his mom. Not too scary, but a great horror flick nonetheless that is disturbing on a human level, what with the incest and all.
One of the better Stephen King adaptations, seeing as how most of his writing is butchered when it hits the screen. This one is not, in my opinion.
