Review of Sleepwalkers (2007) by Robert H — 08 Jun 2011
This Stephen King story is an interesting tale of shapeshifters, incest and cats. Yep, cats. You know with any King story there's going to be some weird aspect to it and if the incest wasn't weird enough, cats.
The film is famous for all the great cameos in it and the film itself isn't too bad. The story is pretty straight forward and the film is short so it never lingers too long.
Where I find the most problem with the film is in the fact that it seems to want the viewer to sympathize with the sleepwalkers but short of the first maybe quarter of the film, I couldn't see that being the case.
One thing that really didn't work for me was the male sleepwalker who comes off all innocent and nice and then goes into some weird Freddy Krueger one liner killing spree.
Could have been better but does come across like many Stephen King films.
