Review of Sleeping Beauty (1959) by Jack P — 03 Dec 2013
Perfect example of a classic Disney fairytale with just enough character development to pad it's less-than-long runtime and a truly menacing villain, Maleficent. The story has some refreshing darkness to it and there's not much motive to the evil witch except that she's that.
..evil. The shining spot is by far the three fairies and the animation is great fun whenever they're using their magic. The film also looks great and the climax's design is like a gothic painting from the Middle Ages.
Everyone knows it, and none can forget it.
