Review of Sleeper (2012) by Bryan T — 10 Apr 2008
A flawed masterpiece of pure slapstick exhuberance. One of the most consistently sidesplitting comedies I've ever seen. The whole thing feels rushed and, as we watch, we realize that we're not in it for the quality of the story.
Sleeper doesn't work towards anything except making us laugh until it hurts, as most comedies should. In that sense, it's one of the great achievements of the movies. A tie for Allen's funniest film with "Love & Death".
