An ambitious, lo-budget sci-fe'r chock-full of allegory and ideas if not cutting-edge effects, but given the choice I whole-heartedly take the former over the latter. It's a sad reflection on Hollywood that this is by far one of the better films made both about Mexican-American identity and the effects of NAFTA on Mexico.
