Review of Sleep Dealer (2008) by Bradford D — 02 Apr 2011
Sleep Dealer starts out with a great premise, strong character development, speculative fiction that is very believable, and plenty of points to make about our own society. The last third of the movie fails to deliver on the big set-up and we're let down with a rather cheesy and predictable ending.
This is worth watching for some old style, character-based sci-fi. Just don't expect an effects-driven film. I look forward to more of this style of film from Alex Rivera. I just hope he can build on this promising effort.
