Review of Skyscraper (2018) by Joe C — 02 Aug 2018

Wow! Sometimes 2, 3 or 4 weeks pass and all movies I catch are mediocre or even outright crap. So it was a delightful surprise when I caught two flicks last night and both were a blast. First I watched Skyscraper with Dwayne Johnson and then Hotel Transylvania 3, and both deserve 8 points.

Well, here some info about the first one. Sure, there is a ridiculous amount of impossibilities in there, starting from the idea that a building of this size would hire a One-Man-Company to revise its security, to scenes where people are only inches away from blazing fires and don't get completely scorched by the flames like a marshmallow, to Dwayne climbing a crane within an instant, what should normally take a few hours, etc.

, etc., but all in all it is cool action with Johnson at his best. The visuals are, as one expects for a 2018 movie, amazing and most of the time there is real tension. So, if you like action flicks and switch of the logical part of your brain, you'll sure enjoy this one.
