Review of Skyscraper (2018) by Natalie N — 21 Jul 2018
I've been reading and hearing a lot of negative reviews about this movie and people comparing it to the Die Hard movies. Although, it may have some similarities I felt that this movie was highly entertaining! As you may have guessed, I am a "Rock" fan however that is not why I enjoyed this movie.
The setting of this movie being a futuristic view of what is possible was interesting from the start. The old war friend that set up the main character for this horrible ride was definitely a surprise.
In this movie the main character and his spouse were both prior military and highly skilled which to me gave an interesting dynamic to the movie when they were both desperately fighting to save their children.
I thought that it was refreshing to see a war hero turn his devastating, life altering injury into a way to assist himself in saving his family. It painted a brighter picture of how that kind of hinderece can be an asset in a life or death situation.
It may seem far fetched but, I'd like to think that what some may see as a negative in their life be a positive and a strength. I hope this brings hope tonthise with disabilities of all kinds. Just because you may be wounded doesn't mean you're not necessary and worthy in this life.
