Review of Skyfall (2012) by Gordon H — 21 Feb 2016
Bond is Back!
Originally written December 1, 2012--.
James Bond's (Daniel Craig) loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is put to the test after a mission in Istanbul goes wrong and MI6's headquarters in London are brutally attacked as a result. Following some deep soul-searching, Bond must put aside his own doubts and search for the culprit--no matter how personal the cost!
After the disappointment of "Quantum of Solace" and the limbo hell caused by the MGM bankruptcy, I didn't know if there would ever be another Bond film--at least another good Bond film. But thanks to the MGM mess finally getting sorted out, John Logan being brought in to write an amazing script, Sam Mendes agreeing to direct, and the inspired casting of Javier Bardem as the main villian, Raoul Silva, I'm incredibly pleased to say that this new Bond film didn't just meet my personally high expectations, it FAR exceeded them!
Welcome back, Mr. Bond!
