A remarkable Bond outing, with a stellar opening and superb first act. However, by placing greater priority on developing the adventure (and Bond himself) as a metaphor rather than on the dynamics of a fresh new story, it fails to top certain of its predecessors, such as "Casino Royale" and "From Russia with Love".
