It was a mistake for the Academy to not give Skyfall the Cinematography Award. It deserves nominations for best picture and editing, and best supporting actor for Fiennes, but that's the Academy for you.
Skyfall is everything you could want from a spy film. It's wonderful that the franchise has finally evolved past maniacal villains in their underground lairs building death rays which 007 destroys with his secret exploding shoe - and that kind of crap.
