Review of Skyfall (2012) by Ivan O — 15 Jan 2014
Say at once: overall I liked this movie. But though generally high quality of shooting, this film is full of screenplays failures, logical errors and cliches. So while watching I experienced mixed feelings.
On the one hand, "Skyfall" looks interesting, movie is intense and profound. I was pleased with the cast. Judi Dench come exactly in her character, and James Bond played by Daniel Craig is still great.
On the other hand, at viewing constantly raises questions about the logic of what is happening. There are small errors - production bloopers. Certainly, they are in a small amount in every movie, but "Skyfall" is full of such incidents. And there are just failures. Extremely disappointed Silva, and exactly his plan. It is unrealistic and far-fetched. I would say this is a progressive Joker's trouble. Also a decision to go to Bond's manor is just absurdly.
At the same time the atmosphere of the movie is gorgeous. Melancholic English landscapes, Bond's originality, competent references to the previous movies with agent 007... Needless to say "Skyfall" has charm.
That is why "Skyfall" is a little strange movie. But all in all the 50-th film about Bond is rather successful than not.
