Review.

With an influx of vampire/werewolf movies inundating the movie world these past few years directors really need to push the mold of this genre. Skin Walkers unfortunately and trust me you will realize this quite quickly does not. It is a sad pathetic attempt at the werewolf genre and its making astounds me. The first thing you will notice is the production value is low with just some horrible editing leading to some very disjointed story line. With the clichéd bad crew wearing leather jackets and biker personas and the good guys having a warm country look this film falls under the generic thoughtless category almost from its outset. The movie itself progresses slowly and to a horrible story line where on the night of a prophesized kids thirteenth birthday the curse of the werewolf will be broken. Why that is exactly is not explained well but you are expected to buy into it anyway. The acting that really could have saved some of the film was far below average leading to some garbage dialogue and awkward encounters. The action sequences are not the worst but very low budget so what they do well in the intent gets lost in the finish value of the scene. Meaning gunshots hit but to no effect and werewolf slashes hit but once again to no effect. This movie screams out for blood, gore, and violence but with the PG-13 rating it ruins all chances of saving this film. Now to where the movie is really just shockingly awful is in the werewolves themselves. I am not sure if you have ever seen the Beauty and the Beast television show from the eighties but if you have the wolves look like the beast Vincent but with less detail. If you have seen the show then you know what I am talking about and if you have not then trust me on this it will inspire more laughing then fear. The werewolves costume and make up will leave you shaking your head in the crappiness that is this movie. How in a genre where everyone is looking for cool monsters do you come up with this idea is unfathomable. The director seemed to put this movie together with out any foresight of its finish or outcome. Why include a scene of two semi transformed werewolves having sex. Is this supposed to radiate sexual passion or an emotional connection of some sort? But the ultimate question never answered is why are there good and bad werewolves? Why is there such a struggle of good versus bad? Where does this prophecy come from? Why is there a hawk attached to the bad werewolves that suicides itself for no reason? With all these questions it isnâ??t a wonder that this film came off so poorly as it did. Top it off they end the movie with a teaser of a second. With the thought of a sequel I came up with its title Skin Crawlers for thatâ??s what this awful film did to my skin. I cannot give this movie my recommendation as the werewolves were just terrible to behold. B grade action lovers might like this but I highly doubt it.

T Factor + Like B grade action this will score higher on the rating scale.

T Factor â?? If you do not see potential in the action sequences then this could score lower on the rating scale.

If you liked this film reel recommendations: Blade trilogy, or Underworld series.
