Review of Skellig (2009) by Scott T — 20 Jan 2010
I found this decent adaptation a little bit of a slog to get into a first but then found it was a real slow burner. Pretty dark content for youngsters with the main plot evolving around a sick newborn baby but interesting enough.
Performances are decent throughout- Simm, Roth, MacDonald, etc. Bill Milner is great and the standout though, (if you liked him in this watch Son of Rambow - quality film, especially for 30 yr old blokes) the way he portarys loneliness, frustration at his parents and basically just being an angsty teenager is great.
Nice little adventure for the hols.
