Review of Six Degrees of Separation (1993) by Tim G — 04 Feb 2009
I recommend this but think it ended kind of weak. I know that will be an unpopular thing to say since this was based on a hit Broadway play. This had a huge cast that made it very enjoyable. I felt all of the acting was very good except Stockard Channing at some points was over the top too much for my liking.
I think this was Will Smith's first big movie role, and he totally grabbed the attention away from many established Hollywood veterans.
It was very enjoyable for a while but I realized that most of the enjoyment was connected to scenes with Smith in them. Near the end this film was on life support for me as I was just hoping it would end to see what happened. That was only really the last 15 minutes or so.
Oh did I mention, another NYC movie! It is a movie worth watching if you have never seen it, it just could have been a little better.
