Review of Sister Act (1992) by Kevin L — 12 Feb 2012
Not as bad as I thought it would be. Of course this film was made when Whoopi Goldberg was one of the most sought after actresses, right along with Julia Roberts and Jodie Foster. Maggie Smith was very good as the Mother Superior but it seems she plays the same role in every film she stars in, just like Harvey Keitel, who is either a badass villain or a badass good guy.
This time it was a bad ass good guy. I love how Delores was able to turn all the Motown hits into contemporary gospel music and the ending was very good. Good work by Wendy Makkena although I was disappointed to see that it was not her actual singing.
Still, no need for a sequel to this film.
