Review of Sinister 2 (2015) by Amanda S — 21 Aug 2015

While I am disappointed that the sequel abandons the slow-burn creepiness that doesn't leave you right after the movie ends - you know, the thing that made the first movie so effective - it makes up for it with a couple of decent scares, creative snuff films-within-the-film, an engaging lead actor, and an interesting family dynamic.

Other franchises have done far worse in their time where sequels are concerned and I think this one is genuinely solid. I don't get the vitriol.
