Review of Singles (1992) by Matt M — 01 Mar 2009
This movie is an interesting depiction of single life set against the backdrop of Seattle in the early 90's, a time of a booming grunge movement, non-corporate coffee shops, and traffic problems. I honestly didn't know what to expect, seeing as this was recommended to me by a douchebag that I didn't know.
I really enjoyed the film and found a role that I can tolerate Kyra Sedgwick in. I enjoyed the cameo from Pearl Jam in the movie, being apart of Citizen Dick, Matt Dillion's character's band. Also, I have to say I love Bridget Fonda in this movie, her father is a brilliant actor and she does good with his name.
All in all, this movie is an interesting take on singles life and the complexities involved with it. It isn't Cameron Crowe's best movie, but if you live in or around Seattle, it's worth a viewing.
