Review of Singin' in the Rain (1952) by Ching L — 01 Jul 2012
Such a feel-good musical :) Love this one to bits.
I love the story more than the songs though. The only really memorable song in this musical (for me at least) is Singin' in the Rain.
It's a rare thing for a musical to have a good plot when the emphasis is usually put onto the music, lyrics and the dancing. But this one. this one is the holy grail of musicals and a shining gem!
1952. schm1952. No one should feel like they shouldn't see it because it's an old film.
Saw The Artist, which setting also lies on the silent to talking movies era, not too long ago. Though their emphasis are on different facade of the era, both are simply golden.
Maybe it's time to revisit this one after seeing The Artist?
