I felt like I was watching the 100-minute version of the Simpsons' parody of "Paint Your Wagon." It baffles me that we were ever a society that wanted a few ten minute tap dancing scenes that had nothing to do with the plot of the movie. I know, I know, it's a classic movie and the singing and the dancing was the point of the movie. This does not make those ridiculous dancing tangents any more enjoyable. They are painfully long and uninteresting. Furthermore, besides a few of the leads, the acting and scripting were wooden and forced. The songs weren't even catchy. I'm still trying to figure out why this is such a classic, and a 100% Tomatometer at that.

All that aside, the story was fun, and I could go along with the movie if you cut out all of that singing and dancing nonsense. I don't always call singing and dancing nonsense, but to me, that's the only word for it here.
