Review of Sing Street (2016) by Paul B — 06 Jun 2016

Sing Street tells the story of Conor (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) whose parents are going through break-up and he's been forced to move to a Catholic publc school. This is where he's life not only takes a turn for the worst where he encounters the closet homosexual bully and the pverly strict headmaster but this is where he meets Raphina. a girl who stands outside of the school everyday and is his inspiration to start a band.

I implore everyone to go and see this movie. It's a funny, touching story of first love and brotherhood. The acting is first class, especially from Jack Reynor who plays the brother Brendon the brother to Conor. Brendon seems to be wasting his life away as colleg drop out, smoking pot and doing very little with this life and yet he's the figure of advice who Conor looks up to for the blue-print to write the band's songs. But alot of the characters have a loveability to them. Raphina's (Lucy Boynton) beauty steals the screen and you can understand why Conor is mesmerised by her.

This a wonderful peace of 80's nostagia wrapped up in a charming film with an excellent soundtrack.. I admit that it brought a tear to my eye and in the end credits it says, "For all brother's everywhere" and I'm glad I saw this this with my brother.
