Review of Sing Street (2016) by Skeptic303 — 18 Oct 2016
I'll officially declare right now that I think Sing Street is the most under-watched movie of 2016. When I watched it, I was in a rather empty theater; when I finished watching it, I left my seat in awe, convinced that this movie is terrific.
Sing Street is another reminder that movies don't have to be dark to be good. It features great characters, a great story, and is thoroughly a joyride. While here, I might as well mention that every time a song is played, the scene is just brimming with life and energy. It is that enjoyable. If I had to admit of any tiny shortcoming, it would be that this movie is more or less cliché, but here, I'm rewarding the movie for the effort and how the clichés are handled. There is nothing cheap lingering in this movie.
Because it really is something to witness, I'm not going to spoil it here. Instead, I'll be happy to honor it a seal of approval.
