Review of Since Otar Left (2003) by Kitty W — 01 Feb 2005
DVD First Viewing, 1 Bertucelli film seen.
Since Otar Left tells a story quite similar to Good Bye Lenin. Instead of hiding the Westernization of East Germany from a recent comatose, Since Otar Left's lie is keeping the death of an elderly woman's beloved son a secret. It isn't so much a plot device (as it was in Good Bye Lenin!), than an excellent way to tell the story of a small family and their everyday struggles - not just the overly dramatic ones.
