Review of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014) by Fernanda G — 26 Feb 2015
Honestly the one star is for Marv and Nancy's stories, which were the beginning of the end. Especially would have liked a more detailed interaction between Hartigan and Nancy to really show Nancy's eventual breakdown.
Frankly I have never liked Eva Green and this movie really didn't help. The woman might be a good actress but whatever skills she has are overshadowed by her constant nudity. I don't mind some T&A given what Sin City is about but even in this it seemed like that was her only job.
The dialogue chewing done by everybody but Rosario, Mickey and Jessica was pretty awful. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was another sad disappointment, I adore most of his work but they just didn't give him much to work with and the addition of Jamie Chung as Miho was unnecessary.
They should have just written her out of the movie because her acting just called attention to the fact that it wasn't the same actress.
All in all glad I didn't pay for it as it was a movie that struggled to recreate the brilliance of the original.
