Review of Sin City (2005) by Gardner R — 29 Aug 2013
Film Noir is a Strong Genre and Frank Miller's Sin City embodies it. Visually impressive and relentlessly violent the film brings the dark and vivid world of corruption and violence to outstanding life.
I was a huge fan of Robert Rodriguez and, when I heard Quentin Tarantino was guest directing, I couldn't wait. Anybody who says the movie is stupid doesn't understand the power of great storytelling and flawless execution.
The movie employs such powerful performances that stay true to the original stories and are alive and not cardboard cut-outs characters like most Hollywood actors. The story's are also interesting and entertaining and always engages your brain on important topics.
Sin City is a one of a kind film that you just don't come by so often these days. Not only groundbreaking, but a compelling narrative that can make me cheer and cringe at the same time. So folks, do yourselves a favor and watch Frank Miller's Sin City and I hope you enjoy the film as I do.
