Review of Sin City (2005) by Ronald N — 31 Mar 2013
The dark world of "Sin City" maintained its groundbreaking visuals and surprisingly violence during the step to the big screen thanks Frank Miller, the creator of the comic series was commissioned, with Rodriguez, to create one of the most faithful adaptations so far.
It's visual style is a haunting, grotesque spectacle between black-white that capture the atmosphere of the book; as a complement, it's gore and violence is well-made and controlled that it is not a mess nor a softness. The cast's act is powerful, and with the three stories that innovated the neo-noir subgenre and do a provocative character study that success well, have Willis, Aoki and Rourke lead the stories with the strength to make the audience get captivating and thrilled.
"Sin City" is far (very far) for been the best comic book movie, but thanks to take the movie like a comic style, and it's neo-noir dialogues, it's the most faithful ever.
