Review of Silverado (1985) by Patrick C — 29 Jan 2010
A very good Western. It's not as good as "3:10 to Yuma" or" Tombstone" or "A Fistful of Dollars" but decent none-the-less. Costner is obnoxious but I guess his character is supposed to be.
As much as I love Scot Glen, this is a good argument for why he should not be a leading man. He simply doesn't have enough charisma. Danny Glover and Brian Dennehy are the best and Linda Hunt is wonderful as always.
There are some great action scenes and some wonderful lines in here, like: "Mister, you ever seen what a Henry rifle can do in the hands of a man who knows how to use it?" and "The world is what you make of it friend.
If it doesn't fit, make alterations.".
