I give this film 5 stars because this is the film that the following Pryor/Wilder team films are trying to emulate. At the same time funny and serious, the talents of both men are on display without the pretentious attempts at humor found in later films.
I think I've seen this film 50 times on HBO alone. It never fails to amuse.
