Review of Silver Saddle (1978) by Andrew H — 23 Mar 2009
A really good entertaining western even if it is not historically accurate and is really easy to watch; there is also good amount of action in it. The battle scenes are excellent and are really well shot; especially the final climatic battle scene which is excellent and is very well acted out.
Errol Flynn shows his true acting talent in the role of General Custer sometimes being quite humorous and other times being very dramatic especially during the last scene with Olivia De Havilland, where both actors act magnificently.
The other actor who stands out is Arthur Kennedy as the corrupt businessman and is also well cast. The script and dialogue is excellent too with every main cast member getting their own specific lines which suits their character.
Overall a really good enjoyable western with a really good cast and really good action scenes.
