This Movie 'Silkwood' is a 1983/1984 Movie which was a out-standing movie to see, the genre of the film Biography, Thriller & Drama was, The Movie is based on a True Story/events of the true-life story of Karen Silkwood, who died in a suspicious car accident while investigating alleged wrongdoing at the Kerr-McGee plutonium plant where she worked (it happened on November 13, 1974). The film is mostly unknown as it is an early 80's Movie (1983/1984 film) & kind of out dated, but it was Nominated for five Oscar so you would think it would be no more, but the goodness of the film is excellent, It's a little amazing that established movie stars like Meryl Streep, Kurt Russell and Cher could disappear so completely into the everyday lives of these characters they play in, the film is a bit like the 2000 movie based on a true stories on environments 'Erin Brockovich' and Cher, Meryl Streep & Mike Nichols really deserved that Oscar that they should have won. (The Film is different a tragic on a true story of a women trying to fight for her & here friends health & life's, but ended in tragic nightmare, very sad).

The Films Style, elements & theme are mind-blowing & dazing, the storyline/plot was very genius & clever taken on a true stories, the acting was very powerful film in this movie with the three leads best performances of the year by Meryl Streep, Cher & Kurt Russell (Utley Brilliant it this movie), with Craig T. Nelson (Which he was great in his role in the movie, while being very big head and thinking he is a ladies' man classic!), Fred Ward (Which he did a great job in the film), Diana Scarwid and the rest of the unknown cast were also brilliant towards these great early 80's (1983/1984) Biography, Drama & Thriller film, The Director Mike Nichols made a, While writers Nora Ephron & Alice Arlen did a terrific job on the storyline/plot. The film looks like it was on a very low budget & look out date, but is a very unique Biography, Thriller (but doesn't have much on the thrilling side until the end, but does have a few jump senses) & Drama film, all the actors are very young in this film (as it was in the young day careers) & all had great southern accents, The film is great case on the Drama & thriller set & having really good sense on the Biography (the true event that happened that was done really well in the film), the special effect were alright (but you know they were fake when seeing them in the film), when seeing them working in the plutonium plant seemed really funny (with the people to work with) & very interesting how it all work & are very safe on warning & stuff like that, the film is very sexual stuff which is very weirdo to see but cool and the music/sound background is average to decent really, while the main theme tune is sweet & very understanding tune. The Chemistry between Meryl Streep, Cher & Meryl Streep & Kurt Russell is Utley charming & somewhat heart-warmingly sweet, in the film there is alot of smoking in the film which I did know they smoked in real life, but they just probable just did that for their role and the film is really upsetting & tearjekering true film. The Ending was showing the Hub Cafe in Crescent Silkwood got into her car and headed alone for Oklahoma City, about 30 miles (48 km) away, to meet with New York Times reporter David Burnham and Steve Wodka, an official of her union's national office, it was heart-breaking to see Karen Silkwood life be killed (but in really they say she was either killed or just drove to her death), the ending of the film really did an upsetting but sweet portal of Karen Silkwood death & her last goodbye to her lover & friends, very heart-breaking (I did cry), also loved that Meryl Streep song at the end of the film, she is a fanatics singer.

(The Film was Nominated for five Oscar (which it won zero), but was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role: Meryl Streep (Which she was Utley brilliant as you'll best actress of our time and the six generations), Best Actress in a Supporting Role: Cher (Which she was fabulous in the movie as she is a talented sing & actress), Best Director: Mike Nichols (Which he really did deserved it (if he won it) for his good use of directing in this timeless Drama, Biography & Thriller Movie), Best Film Editing: Sam O'Steen & Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen: Nora Ephron & Alice Arlen (Which both wrote very good storyline/plot towards this film).
