I personally enjoyed this film, and think it was one of Fred Astaire's better films. Either way, Is ay give him props for wanting to do the "Ritz, Roll, and Rock" due to the then recent rock n roll phenomenon, especially considering his age.
The rest of the film, especially the music, worked well for me, and I enjoyed this film quite a bit!
