A heavy-handed eco-scifi epic, boasting a strong performance from Bruce Dern and solid special effects (especially given the very limited budget). Douglas Trumbull's direction is okay, but the songs by Joan Baez and the script are far too blunt in their message; as a whole, it's only intermittently successful.
