Review of Silent Running (1972) by Chris C — 20 Apr 2012
'Silent Running' is Bruce Dern's long over-due leading man role. He is exceptional as the last caretaker of the earth's forests in space. When told to jettison and nuke the precious cargo, he refuses to follow orders. Good for him and the forest. I saw this movie when it first came out, and I'm surprised that there wasn't publicity to support this film. I know I told all my friends to see it, and I consider it a must see film for anyone concerned about the environment, or just wanting to see a good show. I applaud the little 'robots' in the film, the actors in the costumes really made the little guys believable.
