Review of Silent Running (1972) by Stuart M — 23 Jun 2014
A slow moving, overly empty and sentimental movie which is basically a one man show about an unlikeable man who decides that the survival of the last remaining forests is worth murdering over but whom the film treats as a fascinating and untarnished hero.
Had any moral questions been raised about this dilemma the film would have been vastly superior, but instead it takes his side and then has no drama for an entire hour of screentime.
