Speaking of that clean, scientific world of "2001" that I mentioned in my bit on "Alien". For me, "Silent Running" sits nicely between the two.
Okay, there is no horror stalking the corridors but there is a vision of a horror of what the human race may bring upon itself.
Bruce dern tends the last garden, and faces a dillema when told to down tools.
Directed by Douglas Trumbull, who did all the SFX on "2001".
