Review of Silent Movie (1976) by Mindy B — 23 Jul 2007
Not Mel's most famous movie, but in my opinion his most underrated. People who do not enjoy the slapstick must realize that Mel realizes it is ridiculous. He perfectly spoofs the silent comedies of the early 1900s, and has a phenomenal cast to support it.
Besides the cameos by Hollywood's elite, the performances by Brooks, Dom DeLuise, and Marty Feldman are hilarious. Some of the most memorable sight gags ever, and the only line spoken in the entire movie is by a mime.
..GENIUS!
