Review of Silent Hill (2006) by Ran L — 22 Jul 2011
A very tame supernatural horror tale with a meandering plot that is so shallow and unimaginative you have no trouble believing it was based on a video game. Mitchell is convincing in her unwavering determination to find her daughter, but Bean's role is meager and does nothing to showcase his talent. No suspense, very few horrific elements and zero scares (not even cheap ones) add up to bewilderment that this is supposed to be a horror movie. Some of the special effects are well done, making it not a total waste of time.
